ADMISSIONS EXAMPLE

You may estimate the probability of admission by the calculating the following formula:
  1. Multiply your undergraduate GPA by 200.
  2. Take the average of your Quantitative GRE score and the better of the other two GRE general test scores (Verbal or Analytic).
  3. Add these two numbers.
For example, if you had a GPA of 3.4 and GRE scores of Verbal = 550, Quantitative = 560, and Analytic = 600, your formula score would be:

[200*3.4] + [(560+600)/2] = 1260

In recent years, formula totals of at least 1220 have been typical of students who have been admitted to the program. Recently, the average values of students admitted to the I/O program were as follows:

Formula:1275

This information is published to enable you to estimate your probability of admission. It is possible that significant work experience or some other factor could overcome a lower score, and higher scores do not guarantee a favorable admission decision.
