Spring 2008 Psychology Colloquium Series

                                                         Purpose of the Talk Series

The purpose of this interdisciplinary Colloquium Series is threefold: (1) to provide students with a forum in which to learn more about the different types of research that are being conducted by Faculty and graduate students here at UTC (e.g., basic vs. applied, field vs. lab, qualitative vs. quantitative, etc.); (2) to provide students with a forum in which to learn more about how research informs teaching; and (3) to provide students with a forum in which to learn more about opportunities to participate in research here at UTC. As such, a variety of informative presentations will occur throughout the semester.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the coordinator of the talks, Dr. Lisa Cothran at Lisa-Cothran@utc.edu

                                                      Summer Research Opportunities

Many summer research opportunities are available around the country, and though some dates have past, there are still several programs that are still accepting applications, e.g. Western Kentucky. Most program provide housing and a stipend (usually $2000 or more), though you usually have to pay for the travel. Take a look at the below link to the National Science Foundation site where there are links of interest - Psychology is in Social and Behavioral Sciences
