The Undergraduate Program offered by the Department of Political Science, Public Administration and Non-Profit Management is presented here in detail.
OVERVIEW
The UTC Department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in
The Political Science degree offers five different concentrations from which students may choose. All undergraduate Political Science majors choose a concentration either in American Studies(2848), International and Comparative Studies(2851) Legal Studies(2852), or Public Policy and Administration (2853). The first two of these concentrations do not require completion of foreign language courses through the second year whereas the concentrations in Legal Studies and International and Comparative Studies do have such a requirement.
For all of the available concentrations, there are three required Political Science courses:
American Government(POLS101)
World Politics(POLS102)
Research Methods(POLS200).
The Public Administration and Nonprofit Management degree offers a concentration in Public Administration and Nonprofit Management (2855).
To graduate, students must do the following:
Complete UTC's General Education requirements,
- Complete the major requirements in one of the concentrations,
- Complete the requirements for a minor outside the department
- Fulfill the University requirement of 120 credit hours for graduation, and
- Achieve a 2.0 Grade Point average both overall and in major courses in all courses taken at UTC.
INTERNSHIP
