Leba and Moses Lebovitz Scholarship Receiptants-

Established in 1989 by Moses Lebovitz, UC Class of '28, charter member of the UC Foundation, and chairman of the board of CBL, Inc., one of the largest developers of shopping centers in the United States, with preference given to Jewish students. Enhanced in 1994 to include extra provision for exchange of students between UTC and the University of Haifa, Israel.

• 2009 -Kent Dickson - $2,000 in support of his studies abroad in Britain, where he will work on the Islamicization of British culture during his spring 2010 semester.

Robert Mildram Scholarship -

This is a scholarship which all students, even incoming freshmen, are eligible, whether they are majors in our department or not. But because the scholarship is in honor of one of our former department members, special consideration is to be given to majors in Philosophy and Religion. The award is administered by the UTC Scholarship Selection Committee and is under the umbrella of the University of Chattanooga Foundation.

Robert Cecil Mildram Prize

The Mildram Prize is offered annually to a student who has, in the opinion of the department, best exemplified among the departmental majors a commitment to scholarship, academic excellence, and departmental participation

Hazelip School of Theology Scholarship

• Hazelip School of Theology is pleased to announce the introduction of a new academic merit scholarship beginning fall of 2010.

• This “full tuition scholarship” is intended to encourage enrollment of students from accredited undergraduate institutions currently not represented at Hazelip.

• Following an in-depth selection process based on undergraduate GPA, personal, academic, and professional references, and a 750-1000 word essay, one student from each undergraduate institution with a Theology, Religion, Biblical Studies, or Ministry major will be chosen to receive a full-tuition scholarship leading to the M.Div., M.T.S., or M.A.C.M. degree.

• Subsequently, the students who receive this academic scholarship must enroll and register for classes the fall or spring semester following their completion of a B.A. or B.S.    (Exceptional cases will be at the discretion of our Director.)

• The scholarship will cover the student’s graduate tuition expenses at Hazelip School of Theology provided he/she maintains a 3.0 GPA and remains enrolled as a “full-time” student for the duration of the Masters program.

• If the student’s graduate GPA falls below a 3.0, he/she will be put on academic probation and will lose the value of the scholarship for each subsequent semester until the GPA returns to the set standard.  Each student is allowed a one-time reinstatement of the scholarship.

• Applicants who are interested in competing for the full-tuition scholarship should have all their application materials to us no later than June 1.
