Student Expenses
The normal Gateway course load is six hours per semester. Please see the fee schedule distributed by the Bursars Office for current rates. For 2012-13 tuition for six hours was $1,893 for in-state students and $5,481 for out-of-state ($2,790 for those living in a county that borders southeastern Tennessee--see the section below on Regional Tuition Rate). We expect there will be an increase each academic year in tuition and fees of approximately 5% to 15%.
UTC Regional Tuition Rate
Residents of Catoosa, Dade, Fannin, Murray, Walker, and Whitfield counties in Georgia and Jackson county in Alabama who would otherwise have to pay out-of-state tuition qualify for a regional tuition rate.
Eligible students pay a tuition rate equal to in-state fees plus 25 percent of out of state tuition. The Admissions Office has additional information and the required regional tuition application form.
