Kelly Camp, SRNA (Class of 2011) attended the AANA School of Faculty Conference in Orlando, FL with Drs. Hill and Lindgren in February 2011.

Two of our students, Caroline Estabrook Allison (2011) and Elisha Catchings (2012) attended the National Meeting August 5-10, 2011 in Boston, MA.

Elisha Catchings has been appointed to serve as Student Representative on the AANA Practice Committee for 2011-2012. This is the second time one of our students has received a national committee appointment Marty Waddell (2010) served as a Student Representative of this same committee from 2009-2010.

Three groups of senior nurse anesthesia students (2012) will have poster presentations at the Tennessee Association of Nurse Anethestists (TANA) Annual Conference October 14-16, 2011

Dr. Donald Barker, Trauma Surgery at Erlanger offered the opportunity for the nurse anesthesia students to participate in the American College of Surgeons Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course that is offered approximately four times per year at Erlanger.

Four of our junior students (2013) participated in this two-day course on August 18-19, 2011 that active participation in the surgical skills, chest tube insertion, reading x-rays and emergent airway management.

Students will take part in this course each time it is offered in the future.

New Critical Care Experience Requirement

Please note that the critical care experience requirement for the program has changed effective immediately.

Instead of having at least 1 year of critical care experience, perspective students will now have to have at least 2 years of experience to be eligible for admission.
