Doctor of Nursing Practice/Family Nurse Practitioner Assistant Professor Position The School of Nursing (SON) at The University of Tennessee seeks a faculty member for a full-time, tenure earning, 12 month position beginning as soon as position is filled. The School of Nursing offers the BSN, MSN, and DNP degree in nursing, and is a dynamic environment for creative teaching and leadership. The SON Faculty are leaders in nursing education, scholarship, and service/engagement endeavors. The SON leadership and faculty embrace the shared governance model, as well as Boyer’s model of scholarship described in Scholarship Reconsidered and including the scholarship of teaching, discovery, application, integration, and engagement. Responsibilities: The successful applicant will teach full time, in the graduate programs (advanced practice and clinical courses) but also may have some responsibilities teaching in the undergraduate program. It is expected that this faculty will develop a record of scholarship in an area of interest; and will engage in service to the School of Nursing, university, and communities of interest. Qualifications: Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in nursing or related field, Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practice focus, experience in primary care advance practice nursing, licensure as an advanced practice registered nurse with national certification in the role and specialty through ANCC or AANP, and eligibility for APRN licensure in Tennessee. Preferred qualifications include an earned doctorate in nursing, and two years of teaching experience in a school of nursing. Salary and rank: Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. The candidate selected primary responsibility for teaching will be in the BSN program.
