Admissions Requirements

Students seeking admission into the Master of Science program must meet the admission requirements of both the Graduate School and the MSN in Family Nurse Practitioner program requirements. All application forums, including transcripts, letters of recommendation, and proof of licensure, must be submitted to the Graduate School and the School of Nursing for the application to be considered for admission. Completed applications including test results from standardized testing are due by October 1st of each year.

Please note the institution code for sending test scores: the MAT code is 1759 and the GRE code is 1831.

Degree A baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing from a National League for Nursing or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education accredited program. Master’s degree in nursing from The National League for Nursing or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education accredited program. Need official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions
GPA Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in all undergraduate nursing courses. Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in all undergraduate nursing courses.
Licensure Currently held unencumbered TN RN licensure as a registered nurse in Tennessee or eligibility for Tennessee licensure. Currently held unencumbered TN RN licensure as a registered nurse in Tennessee or eligibility for Tennessee licensure.
Certifications Students must have current BLS certification. ACLS and PALS are not required. Students must have current BLS certification. ACLS and PALS are not required.

Critical Care Experience
