UTC Exchange Programs
UTC offers a variety of exchange opportunities for UTC students. Students can study in another country for two weeks up to a full year through UTC's International Programs. Through the National Student Exchange Program, undergraduate students have the chance to study at one of more than 170 universities in the U.S., U.S. territories, and Canada. UTC CULTURAL EXCHANGE AMBASSADORS SELECTED!UTC's International Programs Office has selected the first class of UTC Cultural Exchange Ambassadors! These UTC students will have special duties on campus and will represent UTC at on and off campus cultural events. Watch for more details about these students and the ambassador program! UTC IS TITLE SPONSOR OF CHATTANOOGA'S CULTUREFESTUTC is the title sponsor of this year's Culture Fest, an annual day-long festival that is being held at Coolidge Park on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. The festivities will include music & dance performances, food, arts & crafts, storytelling, and cultural booths. UTC will have a tent featuring the international and multicultural offerings at UTC. Several UTC student groups will be performing. Those interested in volunteering or those who have event questions should contact Elizabeth Bell at Elizabeth-Bell@utc.edu. |
NATIONAL STUDENT EXCHANGEUTC STUDENTS:There are still opportunities to exchange during Spring 2008 & or Summer 2008. Contact UTC's NSE Office as soon as possible to meet with someone about the program & to pick up application materials! UTC students interested in participating in NSE anytime during the 2008-2009 academic year must submit applications to UTC's NSE Office by Friday, February 15, 2008. Set up an appointment as soon as possible to find out about the program and get an application! STUDENTS FROM NSE SCHOOLS:We encourage you to consider UTC as a possible exchange school! Thursday, Sept. 27 at 11:00 a.m. & 12: 15 p.m. (University Center Auditorium)- Andes Manta ConcertFour brothers from the Ecuadorian Andes use 35 traditional instruments to perform Andean music that has been played in South America for thousands of years and continues to be played today from Colombia to Tierra del Fuego. The Lopez brothers learned their traditional folk music as it has been learned for thousands of years - passed from father to son, and brother to brother. Saturday, Sept. 29 from 11:00 a.m .-7:00 p.m. (Coolidge Park)- Culture FestThis annual Arts & Education Council event is a day-long celebration of the many cultures represented in Chattanooga. The festival features international & multicultural music & dance performances, food, arts & crafts, and information booths. In addition, there will be a storytelling booth as well as an arts & crafts booth for kids. Admission is free. Every Friday during Fall 2007 & Spring 2008 from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. (University Center Dining Area)- UTC International Student Organization LunchJoin ISO for lunch! ISO has weekly lunches for members and for any other interested students, faculty, or staff member. Bring your lunch and look for the vase of miniature flags on a table in the main eating area (An ISO member or officer will be beside the flags)! Every Wednesday during Fall 2007 at 4:00 p.m. (University Center Riverbend Room)- UTC International Student Organization MeetingAll members and interested members are invited to attend the weekly ISO meeting to find out what activities the group is planning, to make suggestions, and to get more involved.
