The UTC Music Department provides several scholarship and award opportunities to students on the basis of talent, ability, dedication, effort, and demonstrated need. There are three basic categories of these awards: performance grants awarded to incoming freshman as well as continuing students funded through the UC Foundation, scholarships and awards given to continuing students based on personal acheivement funded through endowments, and the most prestigious award, the Presser Scholar Award funded by the Theodore Presser Music Publishing Co.

Some of the awards require competitive audition. Others are awarded based on merit and/or need. Some are one-time awards while others may be renewable subject to continuation requirements.
