Melody Dale, soprano, is a native of Kinston, NC but now lives in Cleveland, TN with her family. She is a senior at UTC and a member of the University Honors Program. Her major is a BA in Foreign Language with a Spanish concentration and a minor in Promotion through the College of Business (Marketing). Though music is not one of her academic concentrations, she stays involved in various ensembles including Chamber Singers, Opera Workshop, and the University Orchestra. This is her second time performing with the UTC Opera. Last semester she was the “Second Knitter” in Seymour Barab’s Game of Chance. Outside of UTC, Melody is an active participant in the Chattanooga community organizing events such as Relay for Life and singing in First Centenary United Methodists’ Chancel Choir (soprano soloist in the Rutter Requiem). This May, she hopes to graduate with Highest Honors, summa cum laude. After graduation, she plans to spend a semester in Florida working an internship at the Walt Disney World Resort. Future plans include a career in marketing and later an MBA in international business. Music will always remain a passion in her life.
