27th Annual Tri-State Honor Band
Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5, 2012
Blue Band Conductor: Tony D'Andrea, Professor Emeritus
Gold Band Conductor: Stuart Benkert, Director of Bands
Participants will be selected from director submitted recommendations. The Blue Band will consist of 80 musicians. The Gold Band will consist of no more than 100 musicians.

Eligibility
All high school and high school-aged home school students are eligible. Younger students may be considered if they have previously participated in an honor band and provide a recorded audition with the director recommendation. Each Band Director may nominate as many students for participation as he or she sees fit. We are accepting 12 percussionists (7 blue and 5 gold). Students will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis, by recommendation only. No application will be considered after April 22, 2012.

- Winds: Scales- C,F,Bb,Eb,Ab,G,D (concert) Chromatic, Sight Reading
- Percussion:
- Mallet Scales-C,F,Bb,Eb,Ab,G,D (concert) Chromatic, Sight Reading
- Snare and Tympani All-State Requirements
Itinerary
- Friday, May 4, 2012
Students that advance through the screening process will audition for chair placement beginning at 12:00 p.m. Those students whose marching bands are participating in the Hamilton County Armed Forces Day Parade will audition last, at approximately 2:00 p.m. We request that those students auditioning during the second set of auditions get lunch prior to their auditions, while the former get lunch while the second group auditions. We will ensure that there are a sufficient number of judges to cover both sets of auditions. Seating will be announced at 3:30 p.m. and rehearsals will run from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Rehearsal will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the performance scheduled at 6:00 p.m.
Fee
There is a $15.00 non-refundable registration fee for each student.
Additional Information
It is vital that students be able to fully participate. MAKE SURE THAT YOUR PERCUSSIONISTS ARE ABLE TO PLAY EVERYTHING. Please make sure that the student’s instruments are in working order, with playable reeds and that they can play scales proficiently. All performers MUST be able to perform the minimum requirements. Inability to complete the audition process will result in the student being asked to leave the audition room and they WILL NOT be seated in an honor band.
