The Department of Music of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga announces the Sharon Gilley Grant Memorial Scholarship auditions. A $1,000 scholarship for the academic year 2008-2009 will be awarded to a Bachelor of Music or Master of Music vocal performance, music education, or Bachelor of Arts with voice emphasis student who will participate in the UTC Opera Workshop and production work. The scholarship is available to in-coming freshmen through graduate students.Auditions will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 3:00 PM in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall on the UTC Campus. Applicants should be prepared to sing two songs from the classical literature of arias or art songs. At least one selection must be in English and both selections may be in English.
