Dr. Lim

Aesook Lim was born in Korea. Aesook came to the USA in 1995, and studied at New England Conservatory of Music in Boston for the M.M. degree. She received her B.M. at Seoul Presbyterian Seminary and M.M. from Hanyang University. In 2006, she earned a doctor of musical arts degree in organ performance at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX.

While in Texas, Dr. Lim won the first prize and the best hymn playing in the William C. Hall organ competition. She was also awarded at the honor’s student and was a teaching fellow at the UNT. She studied with Hyunhee Lee, Dr. Jakyung Oh, Yuko Hayashi, and Dr. Lenora McCroskey. She is currently the organist for First-Centenary United Methodist Church in Chattanooga, Tenn. and a private teacher in Rome, GA, where she resides. Since 2007, she also has been an adjunct organ instructor at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Aesook is married to Gisung Moon, and has two children, Injoo and Youngjoo.
