Mathematics Workshops

The UTC Mathematics Department will be offering two workshops for area mathematics teachers this year. These workshops are funded through the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) as part of the Improving Teacher Quality (ITQ) program.

Topics covered in these two workshops include:

  • Methodologies for effective instruction of the updated curriculum standards,
  • Test taking strategies with emphasis on the EXPLORE and PLAN tests given through the ACT program,
  • And the efficient and appropriate use of technology in the math classroom.
The workshops will be held the week of June 14 - 18, 2010. The EXPLORE workshop is for middle school math teachers and the PLAN workshop is for high school math teachers.
