Master of Public Administration

Concentration in Nonprofit Management

The Master of Public Administration program offers a concentration in nonprofit management. The concentration focuses specifically on the management of nonprofit organizations and the role of these agencies in the delivery of public services.

The concentration in Nonprofit Management consists of 36 to 42 credit hour curriculum, depending on whether the student is classified as pre-service or in-service. Requirements include 24 credit hours of core coursework and 12 hours of elective courses chosen from among our nonprofit offerings.  Pre-service students (those without qualifying experience in a public or nonprofit agency)  must also complete an internship in a nonprofit organization. The culminating experience for the program is provided by the MPA capstone course, POLS 540 (Applications in Public Administration).
