The Master of Public Administration program at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga offers the online Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management.

The mission of the Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management program is to equip nonprofit managers and leaders, and those who aspire to such positions, with knowledge and skills for the efficient, effective, and ethical management of nonprofit organizations.

The faculty represent diverse areas of expertise from academic training and experience as practicing public administrators, nonprofit executives, and consultants. In their teaching, all of the program's faculty are committed to the principles of active learning and the synthesis of theory and practice. (Click here for more Faculty Information)

Courses

All courses are offered entirely online by faculty trained in online delivery and dedicated to maintaining a high quality educational experience for students.

The certificate program's curriculum links theory to practice, preparing students with both concrete skills and the ability to think conceptually, strategically, and critically about their work as nonprofit managers.

To earn the Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management, students complete six online courses covering essential topics in nonprofit management

Admission

Students may qualify for admission in one of two ways:

In order to qualify for admission, applicants for the Certificate in Nonprofit Management must:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree
  • Have significant related experience
  • Demonstrate writing ability by taking a writing proficiency exam
  • OR

  • Hold a master’s degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited college or university.
