Dr. Irina KhmelkoAssistant Professor of Political Science Dr. Irina Khmelko (Ph.D., Indiana University) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science, Public Administration and Nonprofit management at the University of Tennessee (Chattanooga). Dr. Khmelko’s doctorate is in Public Policy and she also has an MPA (Master of Public Administration) from Bowling Green State University, USA and MA (Master of Arts) in Society and Politics from Lancaster University, UK. Her research is in the field of legislative studies with regional focus on post-communist countries and the subject area of democratic institution building. Dr. Khmelko has active research agenda, publishes in peer reviewed journals, and presents results of her work on major conferences. Dr. Khmelko is a well accepted scholar in the world academic community and serves as a member of executive committee of the Research Committee of Legislative Specialists at IPSA (International Political Science Association) which unites leading specialists in the field of Dr. Khmelko’s research.
