Chapter Mission

  • Provide speakers to help educate students about the field and opportunities within the field.
  • Collaborate with local Chattanooga SHRM via local and state meeting attendance and/or assistance and through giving back to the community.
  • Maintain and increase membership and act as a meaningful resource to student members.

Meeting Details for Fall 2009

The second meeting of the semester is Thursday, October 22, 2009, at 8:00 P.M. in the Ocoee room of the University Center. The guest speaker for the night will be David Morris, Ph.D., J.D., President and founder of Morris & McDaniel, Inc. Management Consultants. Under his direction, Morris & McDaniel designs personnel systems that are both legally defensible and effective in assisting management in making the best possible personnel decisions. His topic will be "Using cross cultural tests to help rebuild Iraqi security forces: Implications for Global HR Management."

  • All individuals in attendance will have an opportunity to join (or renew membership, for returning members) the SHRM chapter during this meeting. Dues for the entire year are $10, which helps cover the cost of community service projects, fundraisers, and food for meetings.
  • Anyone is welcome to attend!
  • Food and refreshments will be provided, but please RSVP to Benjamin-McLaughlin@utc.edu so that an adequate amount of food can be purchased.
  • If you have any questions, please contact Benjamin McLaughlin, the UTC-SHRM President.
