American
Medical College Application Service (AMCAS)
When appling to medical schools the first step is to complete the packet
from the American Medical

the medical schools to which AMCAS is to submit your application. Interested

OSTEOPATHY
Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.s) are physicians fully trained to diagnose illness, prescribe medications and perform surgery. The Federal Government and the American Medical Association recognize D.O.s and M.D.s as equals. D.O.s, like M.D.s are licensed to provide comprehensive medical care in all 50 states. Tennessee does not have a school of osteopathic medicine. Former UTC students are now in attendance at several of the seventeen schools of Osteopathic Medicine: Kirkville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kirkville, Missouri; The University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kansas City, Kansas; and West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Lewisburg, West Virginia. Th MCAT exam is required for application.
