The Department of Health & Human Performance has an opening at the Assistant Professor level in the field of sportmanagement, outdoor education, and/or public health active living.  DHHP exists to educate and train students, conduct and translateresearch, and provide service in the areas of physical activity, preventive and rehabilitative exercise, nutrition, andhealth promotion. These activities engage the University and the community for the purpose of enhancing health, performance, and improved quality of life among all people. Position:           

Assistant Professor of Health and Human Performance

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) invites applications and nominations for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. The successful applicant will show evidence of community-based project management and a history of earning funding to further practice agenda. Must possess analytic skills, demonstrate the potential for peer-reviewed publications and grant funding, as well as classroom teaching experience in the field of sport management, outdoor education, and/or public health active living. This candidate will teach courses in sport and leisure service administration and active living in both the graduate and undergraduate programs.

Qualifications:
Earned Doctorate in Sport Management, Health and Productivity Management, or related field. The candidate will present an established record of leadership in active living productivity management. The candidate must demonstrate the knowledge and personal skills necessary to initiate and maintain public awareness and educational activities related to active living initiatives. The candidate must demonstrate an ability to interact with and provide leadership to various constituencies (faculty, staff and greater Chattanooga community). The ideal candidate will promote active living by leading a healthy and active lifestyle.
