Summit Goals

The goals of the Chattanooga Active Living Summit are:

  • To convene and network Greater Chattanooga area active living professionals and policy makers
  • To increase the capacity of participants to integrate evidence-based strategies at the informational, behavioral, social, and environmental/ policy levels to promote and support active living
  • To identify active living strategies affecting Greater Chattanooga residents and their families where they live, work, and learn.

Summit Objectives

By the end of the summit participants will be able to:

  • Understand the relationship between physical activity/active living and health outcomes from a global/international perspective
  • Make use of public health data and scientific information as tools in developing and prioritizing community-based active living interventions
  • Make use of evidence-based and promising practice methods for implementing community-based physical activity interventions and communicating physical activity messages
  • Understand Active Living principles applied to specific settings and people
  • Understand and establish an active living coalition of leadership for community-based active living interventions in the Greater Chattanooga area
