TENNESSEE ATHLETIC TRAINERS’ SOCIETY RECOGNIZES

DR. MARISA COLSTON

AS ATHLETIC TRAINING EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR

 

The Tennessee Athletic Trainers’ Society (TATS) presented Dr. Marisa Colston of the University of Tennesse at Chattanooga, Department  of Health & Human Performance Graduate Athletic Training Program, with the Jerry Robertson Educator of the Year Award.  The award was presented to her at the TATS Annual Awards Banquet on January 15 in Nashville.

The Jerry Robertson Educator Award is named for the former head athletic trainer Jerry Robertson of East Tennessee State University for his work in creating, implementing, and establishing the first undergraduate Athletic Training Education Program in the state.  This award is given to an individual who is an Athletic Trainer in the educational setting and whose dedication and service to Athletic Trainer’s and/or Athletic Training Students exemplifies their desire to learn and/or teach regarding the profession of Athletic Training.

Marissa Jones, UTC HHP GATP student honored

One of  Dr. Colston’s GATP students, Marissa Jones, received the $1000 student scholarship award. The Tennessee Athletic Trainers’ Society (TATS) presented Ms. Jones with the Graduate Athletic Training Student Scholarship Award at the 20th Annual TATS Awards Banquet on January 15 in Nashville.
