Stranded!
This course will examine popular works (films, TV programs, books) about explorers, travelers and voyagers who have been shipwrecked. Where do the castaways find hope for rescue? Where do they find companionship? What fears are revealed in the moment of isolation?
This course is tentatively set to be offered on Wednesdays at 4 p.m.

About the professor
Richard Apgar is in his first year at UTC and teaches German in the Department of Foreign Languages. His research focuses on representations of foreign cultures in European travel literature.
