The Ethics of Star Trek
This course is an introduction to various situational ethics within the various iterations of the television phenomenon Star Trek. Students will get critical thinking tools to learn how to think clearly about ethics; they will not be told—nor will they tell others in the class—what to think. All views are welcome, and the only requirement is students learn to think about, discuss, and reflect on the material. As long as students are not combative and rude, all views are welcomed and will be discussed. We may watch episodes from Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise, or we may focus on only one series.
Note: Please check the schedule of classes for the most up-to-date information about meeting times, locations, and availability.
