Radicals, Demagogues, and the Politics of Bias
We love to hate rabble rousers: those highly political people that get under our skin, cause trouble, and make us face our dark side. Some rabble rousers cross the line and operate outside the normal bounds of political discourse to become radicals and demagogues starting riots and wars, changing the course of elections. Examining text, audio, and video, we’ll take a look at the rhetoric of trouble makers from Margaret Sanger to Rush Limbaugh.

About the professor
Rebecca Jones is a professor of rhetoric in the English Department. She has always been fascinated by protests and admired the bravery of those willing to speak out on all sides of an issue.
