Alternative Traditions in U.S. Cinema
This course examines the narrative traditions of U.S. cinema and how changes in the American film industry have influenced narrative. Beginning with the early studio era of Hollywood, we will discuss the classical Hollywood narrative then track alternative narratives throughout the 20th century and into contemporary U.S. cinema.
