First Year Studies: Learning Communities
During the Fall 2009 Semester, UTC is offering seven learning communities you may want to join. If you decide to join a learning community, you will take two courses with those in your community, one course will be based on the topics course you choose and the other an English composition course.
Program Series and Cost
In addition to taking classes with members of the community, you may also participate in a special series of social, cultural, and educational programs. The purpose of these programs is both to introduce you to the diverse opportunities that UTC and the Chattanooga area have to offer and to help you get to know other community members, faculty, and staff.
A $30 program fee is required of each member of a community to cover the cost of most community events. By paying this one-time fee in advance, you will be able to attend all of the programs without having to purchase an individual ticket for each event. If there are larger events, students may have to pay a portion of the cost. The $30 program fee will be billed to the student on the MocsNet statement and you should be aware the fee will be deducted from your financial aid.
