Intermodal Transit Center
"A national intermodal transportation system is a coordinated, flexible network of diverse but complementary forms of transportation that transports passengers and property in the most efficient manner" - Congress, 2002 Intermodal transit centers (ITC) are versatile facilities designed to provide travelers with access to a variety of transportation modes, including trains, subway systems, buses, ferries, and even water taxis. An ITC provides a central location for multiple modes of transportation and thereby makes it easier for travelers to use efficient and smart travel options. By taking advantage of an ITC and public transit, citizens of Chattanooga can work together to save money and make the best use of available resources.
