Project Description
For the purposes of this project, the project managers will be the professors who will also act as the client. The sole purpose of the project is to supply the client with exactly what he or she desires. For this case the client desires the VUE to be running on hydrogen by April 15, 2008. In a previous project the Vue was converted to run on a gasoline and ethanol mixture. This will not be ignored and a subtask of the project is to make the VUE operate on both the mixture and hydrogen, switching between the two. The only way to do this is to design a switch to go back and forth from one fuel source to another. To meet these standards, H.I.C.E. will use the facilities at UTC and the TVA test track. At UTC most of the mechanical work will be done. The test track will be used for all the benchmark testing. The conclusions made on hydrogen fueling will consider range, rate of speed, reliability, and safety. By doing this testing, H.I.C.E. can compare the results with standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Tennessee Department of Safety.
Team H.I.C.E. is dedicated to improving the lives of the everyday driver. The motto that H.I.C.E. strives to uphold is, "We can save green, by going green." This concept has its roots from the fact that by using a more efficient and less harmful alternative fuel, it will ultimately lead to a cleaner and wealthier future. To help you understand exactly how H.I.C.E. Dynamics plans to do this, a few documents are shown below. These documents were developed by the team and show a clear and precise plan to execute and accomplish the task stated above.
