We are a sub organization to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

We are a student organization located at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

We are an active society featuring: excursions to various engineering facilities, experience in design fabrication, and education in engineering concepts.     

 

The objectives of the ASME Student Section at UTC are to:

· Promote awareness of the Mechanical Engineering specialty at UTC while fostering engineering education;

· Provide an opportunity for students to begin their professional careers by joining a professional engineering society;

· To inform students of recent developments in the field of mechanical engineering through publications, field trips and meetings;

· Promote the art, science, and practice of mechanical engineering and the allied arts and sciences while developing relationships between, schools, industry and the university;

· To promote the fellowship and interaction other student sections, as well as professional sectors of the Society; and

· Give exemplary representation of the field of Mechanical Engineering in all applicable situations.
