Welcome from the Dean
Welcome to the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) website at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). Please take a moment and explore the many options for your education in engineering, technology, or computer science. As you may know, the College offers world-class undergraduate curricula in the ABET-accredited disciplines of Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical, general Engineering with specialties, and Computer Science. We have great programs in Engineering Technology Management, that include Construction Management. Our vigorous curricula - plus initiatives in leadership development and experiential learning - make our graduates increasingly valuable recruits for regional employers. Masters level programs in the College have experienced phenomenal growth, particularly Engineering Management. We offer the only PhD degree at UTC in the Graduate School of Computational Engineering.
With innovations in engineering, technology, and computer science changing so rapidly, those of us who teach and work in these areas must continue to match the pace of these innovations. If you are an alumnus or a business partner, I trust that you share my pride in the growth of the College. Applied research projects, undergraduate research and competitions, numerous co-op/internship opportunities, and corporate partnerships are just some of the activities demonstrating our outreach commitment as an engaged metropolitan university. By serving as the region's educational and research hub, UTC offers the business community an extension of their research operations in a strategic and relevant way - in addition to developing outstanding engineering, technology, and computer science graduates.
If you are a potential friend or a potential student, please feel free to contact us for a visit. This is an exciting time to be in Chattanooga!
