  • The above costs are based upon the 2009-2010 tuition and fee schedule as published by the UTC Bursar
  • Estimates listed above do not include cost of textbooks and materials (estimated at $300 per semester)
  • Financial Aid: A limited number of graduate assistantships are available at the doctoral level (part time: 10 hrs/week; full time: 20 hrs/week) during the fall and spring academic year (summer semester excluded). Assistants received a tuition waiver and monthly stipend in exchange for their service. A number of student loan options are also available- please contact the Financial Aid office for more information.
  • Full-time employees of the Hamilton County Department of Education are currently eligible for a 50% tuition reimbursement plan.

 * In-state defined: Tennessee resident or non-Tennessee resident employed full-time in Tennessee (refer to UTC Graduate Catalog for details).

** Regional tuition rate : Effective January 6, 2010, residents of Catoosa, Dade, Fannin, Murray, Walker, and Whitfield counties in Georgia and Jackson county in Alabama will qualify for a regional tuition rate on graduate course work (refer to regional rates above).

Notes:
Electives: Elective cost may be reduced if any post-graduate elective credits are approved for transfer into the program of study.

Dissertation hours: Doctoral students will register for 3 graduate credit hours per semester while working on the dissertation (continuous enrollment). An excess of 12 credit hours may be needed if dissertation is not completed within a 12 credit hour time frame. These additional dissertation hours would result in a total higher cost for the degree (3 graduate hours per semester until the dissertation is completed and successfully defended).
