EdD in Learning and Leadership
Core Courses
Cohort members enroll as a group in a six credit hour required course block every semester for two years (six consecutive semesters in fall/spring/summer).
Required elective credits may be taken along with core courses if approved by the student's advisor. Courses are offered via "hybrid" or "executive delivery": face-to-face weekend seminar sessions, online work, and independent study.
Face-to-face class meetings/seminars are held during weekend sessions in Chattanooga, Tennessee (4-6 weekends per semester; Friday evenings and/or Saturdays). Several current students commute from Knoxville, Atlanta, Nashville, and other neighboring cities. On average, the EdD will take 3-6 years to complete, depending on various factors including number of transfer credits, if applicable, and the amount of time dedicated to the dissertation (one year or more).
