**Participants will register for a minimum of 2 credit hours per semester (fall, spring, and summer) while working on the dissertation (continuous enrollment policy). An excess of 12 credit hours may be needed if the dissertation is not completed within a 12 credit hour time frame. Additional dissertation hours would result in a total higher cost for the degree at the rate of 2 credit hours per semester until the dissertation has been successfully defended.
Estimates are based upon the 2010-2011 tuition and fee schedule as published by the UTC Bursar.
Historically, tuition has increased 5-9% each academic year; therefore, the estimated tuition/fees listed for Years II and beyond assumes an average increase of approximately 7% annually. Estimates do not include cost of textbooks (average of $400 per semester).
Select employers offer tuition reimbursement programs or fee waivers- contact your organization's office of Personnel/Human Resources for details.
Residency Classification:
In-State Rate: A Tennessee resident or non-Tennessee resident employed full-time in Tennessee
(refer to current UTC Graduate Catalog for full definition). Non-Tennessee residents employed full-time in Tennessee may take up to 8 credit hours per semester at the current in-state rate.
Regional Tuition Rate Residents of Catoosa, Dade, Fannin, Murray, Walker, and Whitfield counties in Georgia and Jackson county in Alabama qualify for a regional tuition rate on graduate course work
(refer to regional rates above and visit the Graduate School website for an application form). The continuation of the regional program beyond the 2011-2012 academic year will be determined by the UT Board of Trustees.
