Dr. Seong Park joined the the Department of Criminal Justice in fall of 2010. Originally, he came from South Korea after serving as a police officer at the Korean National Police Agency for thirteen years. In the U.S., he received his Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati (2010) and two Master’s degrees: one in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University (2005) and the other in Statistics from the University of Cincinnati (2009). He also has a Certificate in GIS and Spatial Analysis from University of Cincinnati (2010). He has researched on the analyses of crime patterns and crime prevention strategies. He has also assisted the Chattanooga Police Department in their crime analysis efforts. Presently, he serves as the Chair of Program Committee in the Korean Society of Criminology in America (2011-Present). His current research is focused on statistical analysis of crime and victimization patterns.
