The Legal Assistant Studies Program prepares students for employment in private law firms, corporations, government agencies, and other public and private settings. Currently it is one of a few four-year programs in Tennessee, although there are several two-year programs in the state. The program welcomes students transferring from other institutions who hold a two-year degree or who have some legal or college courses. All students in the program must complete the University’s general education requirements or transfer the equivalent and complete 51 hours of legal assistant studies courses, electives, and general education requirements for a minimum of 120 credit hours. Upon graduation, majors receive a Bachelor of Science in Legal Assistant Studies.

For more information, contact Professor Karen McGuffee, Legal Assistant Studies Coordinator or Dr. Helen Eigenberg.
