Construction Management Program
Program Mission
The mission of the Construction Management Program at UTC is to provide a comprehensive and quality learning environment with scholarly and service activities to prepare students as professionals in construction that have the responsibility of planning, scheduling, and building projects.
Program Objectives
In support of this mission, the ETM program aims to:
- prepare technology graduates who are competent in technical and managerial areas
- provide quantitative and qualitative skills for problem solving
- teach students to use modern computer-based systems
- instill an understanding of professional, societal, and ethical responsibilities and need for lifelong learning
- produce graduates who are progressing towards continued professional development
- produce graduates who are able to work effectively in teams
- produce graduates who demonstrate good written and oral communication skills

What is Construction Management?
"Construction Management is a profession that applies effective management techniques to the planning, design, and construction of a project from inception to completion for the purpose of controlling time, cost, and quality."*

Scholarships:
- Associated General Contractors (AGC) of East Tennessee Scholarship
(up to $3,000/year for Construction Management students)
- Construction Scpecifications Institute (CSI) Scholarship
- UTC Transfer Student Scholarships
Online Lecture Archives: All Engineering Technology Management courses offered through the Engineering Management and Technology department are recorded and archived to UTC Online, allowing students to review lectures from the convenience of their computer. The courses are delivered using a combination of Blackboard and the Mediasite System, which allows the instructor to broadcast the class both on a real-time basis and archive each lecture for later use.
College of Engineering and Computer Science Building
Housing the ETM: Construction Management program is the Engineering, Mathmatics, and Computer
Science building. Built in 2003 at a cost of 28 million dollars, the 200,000
square foot building features state-of-the-art classrooms, auditoriums,
computational laboratory facilities, advanced teaching resources, and research
facilities.

Career Day
February 8th – UC Tennessee and Chattanooga Rooms, 10 a.m. -2 p.m.
Representatives from 73 organizations will be available to talk with students about opportunities for career entry level, internships, co-op, summer and part-time positions
AGC NEWS
ALL UTC students interested in the construction industry are invited to join AGC Student Chapter on February 8th at Green|Spaces from 6-7:30 p.m.
Guest Speaker, Arch Willingham, will tell us about project management in the field. Free food/drinks provided.
