Communication Week 2007
Monday, March 5 through Thursday, March 8, featured activities and events designed to help communication majors prepare for jobs and internships. The week of activities culminated in the annual "Pizza with the Pros." The pizza luncheon provides an opportunity for UTC communication students to meet in an informal setting with professionals from the Chattanooga media market. More than a dozen professionals participated in the 2007 luncheon.

Katie Broderick's Honors Research Paper Recognized
UTC Communication senior Katie Broderick presented her award winning research paper at the 10th University Honors Research Conference, Thursday, April 19, 2007. The paper is titled "Framing Femininity: Media Coverage of a Tennessee Mayoral Campaign." The project faculty advisor is Dr. Elizabeth Gailey.
Kappa Tau Alpha Honorary inductees, Jacob Vannucci, Mattye LaSuer, Allison Conley, and Clarissa Barnes with Kit Rushing, UTC Communication Awards Dinner, Tuesday evening, 17 April 2007. Not able to be present was WRCB-TV3 General Manager Tom Tolar. Tolar was recognized for his contributions to the department and its students.
Second Donna Dawn Memorial Scholarship Presented
Chattanooga advertising executive Ralph Dawn during the Communication Department's annual awards dinner awarded the second Donna Down scholarship to Mattye LaSuer. Mr. Dawn and his family are funding an endowment designed to provide an annual scholarship in the name of his late wife, Donna Dawn.
