Nicole Brown

Ms. Nicole Brown is a native of Chattanooga and received her B.S. degree from Middle Tennessee State University in Mass Communications and her Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Ms. Brown’s radio career began with a summer internship at Brewer Media Group. The following semester, she worked at the student radio station at MTSU. Brewer Media Group offered her a job immediately after graduating from MTSU. Since then, she has worked in the following formats: Hip/Hop and R& B, R&B Oldies and Urban Adult Contemporary. Her most notable radio shows include The Instant Request Line, Soul Food Sunday and Lunch Live.
Ms. Brown is most known in Chattanooga for her work as a professional broadcaster with the Brewer Media Group. With over 15 years as on-air personality Khole Brown, she enjoyed entertaining and informing listeners for WJTT-Power 94, WMPZ-Groove 93 and WMPZ-Z93. In 2003, she began working for both WJTT and WMPZ. Her roles included On-Air Personality/Entertainment Reporter for WJTT-Power 94 and Midday Host for Z93-WMPZ. Brewer Broadcasting switched the format for Z93 WMPZ in 2004 and Brown began her weekly recording of the In Touch Community Calendar. In 2005, she returned as the Midday Host for the newly formatted Groove 93 WMPZ. Ms. Brown resigned from her midday host position on WMPZ in April 2007 after receiving her master’s degree. As of today, she continues to work occasionally for the Brewer Media Group as an on-air personality and reporter for the Chattanooga Traffic Network, which includes radio and television stations.
Brown also works for UTC as the Associate in the Office of Equity and Diversity. Ms. Brown is currently the Faculty Advisor for The Perch. She also served as an adjunct professor for University Studies. Brown has accepted others roles within the University which include: UTC Faculty/Staff Worklife and Diversity Research Team, UTC Strategic Planning Committee, Team leader for the UTC Faculty/Staff giving campaign, UTC United Way Campaign Leadership Team, and volunteer for the UTC Development Office.
Over the years, Ms. Brown has been an advocate of community outreach which include: United Way Corporate Volunteer Council, Make-A-Wish Foundation East Tennessee Chapter, East Chattanooga Weed and Seed Youth Division program, researcher for a doctoral dissertation: Successful Communication in a Social Movement: A Case Study of the Montgomery Bus Boycott. She is currently a member of the Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute.
She also volunteered as moderator for Point of View which airs on a CBS affiliate station and on-air talent for WTCI, a PBS affiliate, (Membership drives, Live-Auctions, Riverbend Reporter and guest host “Beyond the Headlines”).
