Year-end celebration honors students' accomplishments
UTC’s Department of Communication sponsored a year-end celebration and awards and honors ceremony April 16. About 70 communication students and full and part-time faculty attended the event held at Midtown Music Hall. Dr. Felicia McGhee-Hilt served as the emcee.
Awards were given in a variety of categories to honor work done inside and out of the classroom, including awards for outstanding contributions to the various student media organizations. In addition, May graduates and Departmental Honors Graduates were recognized.
Dr. Rebekah Bromley inducted seven students into Kappa Tau Alpha, the honorary for communication and journalism students. Adjunct Professor Kristiina Braden and local PRSA member Kevin Lusk inducted students into the Public Relations Student Society of America. Adjunct Professor Chris Willis presented a variety of video work created by his students in Video 1 and 2.
