Photo of Communication Department computer labTwo state-of-the-art Macintosh computer teaching laboratories connected to the Internet provide communication majors with the tools necessary to learn technologies of  the communication professions.  An additional smaller computer lab allows students to work outside of class on projects.  These computer laboratories in Frist Hall, home of the department, permit students to develop practical expertise in multi-media production, writing and reporting, editing and publication design, radio and television production and web page production and presentation.

The department is in the process of developing a campus Web radio station, currently housed in Frist Hall.  This facility will have the ability to stream audio content via the Internet and provide students with hands-on learning opportunities.

Communication students also have access to state-of-the-art broadcasting facilities in the UTC Television Studios.  Digital editing suites, master control, and the UTC Television Studios allow students to produce programs which air on a local cable channel.
