In addition to meeting the requirements outlined above, students who complete the Bachelor of Arts in Communicadtion under the "old" general educadtion requirements must also do the following:
- Take EHLS021 and one EHLS activity course
- Complete foreign language through the second college year
- Take at least 33-semester-hours in communication courses including the required 21-semester-hour core and at least four communication elective courses. The total number of communication hours (UTC communication hours and any mass communication or journalism hours from another institution) should not be more than 38.
- Complete at least one minor of no fewer than 18-semester-hours.
- Complete at least one-year of high school American history.
- Complete a total of at least 128-semester-hours of college level work of which at least 42-semester-hours are at the 300 or 400 level.
- Develop at least a 2-point overall grade-point-average with at least a 2-point average in the communication major.
