At UTC, Chemistry majors have over 15 different scholarships, of varying amounts, for which they can apply. These can be awarded in addition to and on top of, university scholarship money. The scholarship application for is not a requirement for a scholarship, you can be assured of consideration for a scholarship by completing the items requested below. Applications are usually due February 15.

The application process for 2013 is complete. Scholarship recipients and awardees will be announced at the Annual Chemistry Awards Banquet to be held on April 12, 2013. Look for new applications in Janurary of 2014.

Below are descriptions of some of the scholarshops and awards available.
Marvin Anthony: Given to rising juniors or seniors based on academic performance and service to the department. Preference given to chemistry majors with industrial interests.
Murray Raney: Given to a rising juniors or seniors based on academic performance and service to the department. Preference to BS chemistry majors with graduate school or industrial interests.
Thomas Pre-Medicine: Given to a rising junior or senior based on academic performance and service to the department. This student should be interested in being a medical doctor.
Thomasson Pre-Medicine: Giiven to a rising junior or senior based on academic performance and service to the department. This student should be interested in being a medical doctor.
Grote: Any of our chemistry majors at any level, but usually awarded prior to the freshmen year. Students must matain at least a 3.25 overall and at least 3.25GPA in chemistry to continue to hold this scholarship.
Higdon Textbook Awards: For an outstanding student at any level. Need based.
ACS Local Section: Given to a senior based on service to the department, academic achievement, and interest in a career in chemistry.
American Institute of Chemistry: For a senior interested in an industrial career who has given service to the department.
Student Affiliates Service Award: Given to a student member based on exceptional service and contributions to the Student Affiliates.
Teaching Assistantship Award: Given to an outstanding teaching assistant.
Hypercube Scholar: For a junior or senior interested in computational chemistry, award of software.
Swan Award (CRC Handbook): Given to and outstanding freshman for academic performance and service to the department.
Edwards Award: Given to an outstanding sophomore or junior for academic performance and service to the department.
Gross Award: Given to outstanding senior for academic performance and service to the department.
Undergraduate Analytical Award (subscription to Analytical Chemistry): Given to an outstanding student in analytical chemistry courses.
Organic & Polymer: Given to an outstanding student in organic chemistry courses.
Gamma Sigma Epsilon: Given to all students who meet the hours and GPA criteria.
