Each spring, the Chemistry Department honors our majors at the annual Awards Banquet. This 21 year traditition tops off the year by recognizing student excellence. Student achievements are recognized and over $50,000 in scholarships are awarded.
This year's banquet was held April 20, 2009 in the Tennessee Room of the University Center. Some of the awards included:
Outstanding Laboratory Teaching Assistants: Daniel Burris and Steven Ledford- Undergraduate Award in Analytical Chemistry: Jessica Moerman
- Undergraduate Award in Polymer and Organic Chemistry: Vijay Patel and Elena Canler
- Hypercube Scholar: Aaron Evans
- McNeely Award: Sam Chill and Jesica Moerman
- Waddell Award: Steven Ledford and Will McGee
- American Chemical Society Award: Desiree Benefield
- Higdon Textbook Awards: George Campbell, Elizabeth Lane, Coree Rippetoe, Harrison Herron, Laura Yates, Matthew Stephens, Francoise Umuhoza, Ryan Ambrosetti, Jessica Goldman, Austin Hall and David Sved
- Student Affiliates Service Award: Tessily Cannon
- Swan Award (outstanding freshman): Jordan Fouth and Zac Perry
- Edwards Awards: Hitesh Vashi (outstanding sophomore), Elena Canler (outstanding sophomore), Marko Bajic (outstanding junior), and Albert Vaughn (outstanding junior)
