STUDENTS/FACULTY PRESENT AT NATIONAL CONFERENCES: The spring was a busy time for the Chemistry Department as 7 students and 5 faculty presented at national conferences, including Pittcon, the National ACS Meeting, and the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference. STEM EXPO: Faculty and students participated in an outreach event with the Girl Scouts. The STEM EXPO focused on promotoing science, technology, engineering and math to females in rural high schools in the Chattanooga area. Chemistry faculty and students presented "Fun with Polymers". (03/24/2012)

The primary goal for the Department of Chemistry is to uphold a commitment to excellence in undergraduate education. We offer BA and BS degrees in Chemistry including a BS degree with a Biochemistry concentration. All of our degrees have a premedical/predental option. The BS Chemistry degree is certified by the American Chemical Society.
