Registration Process for Graduate Students

Step One - Advisement Appointment

All students must be advised by an advisor in the College of Business Graduate Programs Office. New MBA & MACC students as well as any non-degree seeking graduate student must set up an in-person advising appointment while current students may choose between an email, phone, or in-person advising session. To set up an in-person or phone advising session, call (423) 425-4210. For an email advising session, email your proposed schedule to Elizabeth-Bell@utc.edu.

Who can advise students?

The assistant dean or the director of UTC's College of Business Graduate Programs Office advise business graduate students.  You can call (423) 425-4210 to schedule a time to talk with one of them.

When does advising take place?

Priority advising for the fall semester takes place in early April and for spring & summer semesters in early November.  After the priority advising time has passed for each semester, students can be advised on a first come, first served basis until the first day of classes for each semester/session.

Why be advised?

Students are required to be advised to ensure that all are taking the appropriate courses in a manner to help them be successful in the program.  In addition, some business graduate programs are closed and require advisor approval to register for them. Others require your advisor to perform prerequisite overrides in the registration system. During your advising session, you also will be given your alternate PIN number, which is needed to register..

Step Two - Registration

All students are required to register themselves for courses approved by the COB Graduate Programs Office.
