Application and Admissions Requirements for the EMBA Program
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTSTo complete your application you must submit the following: |
APPLICATION |
Obtain and complete an application from UTC's Graduate School. You may pick up an application in person (Race Hall 103) or apply on-line. |
OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS |
Submit to UTC's Graduate School official transcripts from each college or university attended. |
| APPLICATION FEE | Pay a $30 one-time, non-refundable application fee. ($35 for international student applications). |
| PROOF OF IMMUNIZATION | Provide proof of your immunization records to Student Health Services. |
| GMAT or GRE SCORES | Take the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Note: GMAT or GRE waivers may be available for applicants with significant, relevant work experience or a graduate degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Applicants interested in pursuing a waiver should contact the Assistant Dean, Michael Owens at 423-425-5250. |
| RESUME/VITA | Provide a current resume or vita. |
| RECOMMENDATION | Submit a recommendation from your employer (preferably your direct supervisor). The recommendation should include acknowledgement of the required time commitment (half days Friday and a 10-day international trip). |
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTSAdmission to the EMBA program is based on the following: |
| GPA | A minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.7, or a GPA of 3.0 in the senior year |
OFFICIAL GRADUATE EXAM SCORE (Either GMAT or GRE) |

| INTERVIEW | Interview with Michael Owens, Assistant Dean for the College of Business. (Contact Michael Owens at Michael-Owens@utc.edu or 423-425-5250 to set up an interview.) |
| COMMITTEE REVIEW | A committee of faculty and administrators will review all qualified applications to select the students who will be admitted to the upcoming EMBA class. |
TAKING THE GMAT OR GREThe GMAT & GRE are offered as computer based tests. On average the exams can be completed in about four hours. Upon completion of the exam, you will be given an unofficial score report. Official scores will arrive two to three weeks after the exam date.
