How do I find out the status of a petition?
Students should check the UTC email account regularly for an email regarding the outcome of their petition. A student can also check with "First Place", in 101 Hooper Hall, regarding the status of a petition.

What is a petition?
A petition is a formal way to allow for exceptions to degree requirements to be made under unique circumstances.

Can I petition for excess hours?

Yes, students may petition for excess hours (21 hours). Petitions for excess hours are due one week before the first day of class in the corresponding term.

What is a substitution?
A substitution allows a student to count a course of similar content or skill for a specified or required course course under their degree or minor.
