Registration Process for Graduate Students Step One - Advisement Appointment All students must be advised by an advisor of the College of Business graduate programs. All students can call (423) 425-4210 to schedule an appointment. Who can advise students? The assistant dean or director of the College of Business graduate programs. You can call (423) 425-4210 to schedule a time to talk with one of them. When does advising take place? Priority advising for the fall semester takes place in early April and for spring & summer in early November. After the priorty advising time has passed for each semester, students can be advised on a first come, first serve basis until the first day of classes for each semester/session. Why be advised? Students are required to be advised to ensure that all students are taking the approriate courses in a manner to help you be successful in the program. You will also be given your advisement code (which you will need to register) during your appointment. Step Two - Registration All students are required to register themselves for courses approved by the directors. What will you need to register? The course department, course number and course section you were approved to take as well as your UTC ID and Password, Secure Id (SID), and your advisement code. How do you register?
Other Information: You will not be able to register if you have any holds on your account at UTC. Typically holds include, but are not limited to - Graduate School, Bursar's Office, and Student Health Services. The system will inform you which type of hold you have and will give a phone number to call. If you try to log in from your work computer, the firewalls that are in place may not allow you to register from that computer. Please try a home computer or come to Fletcher 408 to use university computers.
